TIPS ON TRADING STAMPS

Before you can trade stamps, you must let others know that you want to do so. You can do this by using a lot of "stamp trader lists" that are available online. You can use my one too! After submitting your name to some stamp trader lists, you should wait for some time (even some months!) to see the offers rolling in. You can even contact other persons on the stamp trader lists.

Once you get an offer don't send the stamps straight away. Here are some guidelines that you should follow:-

  • Know a bit about the person. Make sure he is not a FAKE. Ask him/her where he lives.

  • Negotiate the deal. Tell him what you offer and what you want. Make sure it is a fair one!

  • If you think you don't like an offer, then don't accept it. No one can force you. Once you have traded the stamps, you may not be able to get it back.

  • Ask which countries he is offering.

  • Request him to use registered mail.

When sending the stamps you should follow these guidelines:-

  • Make sure the envelope you are sending the stamps in, is sturdy.

  • Pack the stamps carefully. You may wish to send the stamps in a glassine envelope or wrapped with some paper.

And remember the most important rule of all!

  • NEVER CHEAT!
